Samuel Slater
Samuel Slater was an industrial technician who learned cotton spinning technology in England and brought that knowledge to America. In 1793, he constructed a water-powered spinning mill in Rhode Island, achieving America's first successful factory operation. Known as the "Father of American Industrialization," he established the family-labor-based "Rhode Island System" and accelerated the industrialization of New England.
