Italian Wars (Renaissance Period)
Fought between Habsburg Spain and the Valois Kingdom of France across Italy, France, and the Netherlands, this final Italian War ended decades of struggle. The Peace of Cateau-Cambrésis in 1559 established Habsburg dominance over Italy and defined early modern European diplomacy.
