Edmund Jennings Randolph: Framer and Statesman

Edmund Jennings Randolph was a key American Founding Father who served as Washington's aide-de-camp, Virginia's first Attorney General, and Governor. At the 1787 Constitutional Convention, he presented the landmark Virginia Plan, shaping the modern federal structure. Although he initially refused to sign the Constitution due to concerns over federal power, he later urged its ratification. He went on to serve as the nation's first U.S. Attorney General and second Secretary of State.
