Hongxi Emperor
Born in Nanjing, the Hongxi Emperor had a brief eight-month reign focused on domestic stability. Educated in Confucianism, he halted costly foreign expeditions, reduced tax burdens, reorganized the administrative system, and encouraged displaced farmers to return to agriculture.
