Lloyd George’s Total War Victory
David Lloyd George proved to be a decisive leader as Britain's Prime Minister during the second half of World War I. Prior to becoming Prime Minister in December 1916, he served as Minister of Munitions, where he dramatically increased artillery production and resolved supply crises. As head of the War Cabinet, he centralized government control, introduced food rationing, pushed for the convoy system against U-boats, and championed unified Allied military command under Marshal Foch. Known as "The Welsh Wizard," his energetic war leadership brought Britain to victory in 1918, after which he represented the nation at the Paris Peace Conference.
