Karl Marx
Karl Marx, born on May 5, 1818, in Trier, Germany, was a philosopher, economist, and revolutionary whose ideas revolutionized social science and political theory. Co-authoring The Communist Manifesto in 1848 and publishing Das Kapital in 1867, he developed historical materialism and analyzed capital accumulation, surplus value, and class struggle. Marx argued that capitalism inherently exploits labor and fosters economic crises, driving the proletariat toward revolution. Experiencing exile across Europe before settling in London, he actively organized international labor through the First International. His intellectual legacy permanently transformed global political movements, sociology, economics, and philosophy.
