Developing Calculus and Binary Logic
Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz was a German polymath, philosopher, mathematician, and diplomat born in Leipzig. A central figure of early modern rationalism, he independently developed infinitesimal calculus, creating the differential and integral notation system still in standard use today. Leibniz made pioneering contributions to binary mathematics, mechanical calculators, formal logic, and metaphysics through his monadology. He actively fostered European scientific cooperation, serving as the founding president of the Berlin Academy of Sciences while serving the House of Brunswick-Lüneburg.
