Christoph Probst: Courageous White Rose Activist

Christoph Probst was a German medical student and devoted father whose passion for philosophy and human dignity led him to join the White Rose resistance group. Bound by close friendship with Alexander Schmorell and Hans Scholl, he served as a medic in the Luftwaffe while quietly supporting the group's nonviolent struggle against Nazi totalitarianism. In early 1943, Probst drafted an impassioned manuscript calling for political liberation, which was discovered when Hans Scholl was arrested. Imprisoned shortly after, Probst was swiftly sentenced to death by the Nazi People's Court and executed at Stadelheim Prison on February 22, 1943.
