Charles V of Lorraine: Imperial Field Marshal
Born in exile in Vienna, Charles V, Duke of Lorraine, served as a distinguished Imperial Field Marshal for the Habsburg monarchy. Deprived of his native duchy due to French occupation, he dedicated his career to military service under Emperor Leopold I. He played a crucial role in defending Vienna against the Ottomans in 1683 alongside Jan III Sobieski, and subsequently commanded imperial forces in the liberation of Hungary, notably capturing Buda. Charles also led campaigns along the Rhine against French troops, standing out as one of the most capable commanders in the expansion of Habsburg influence.
