Marshall Plan Leadership and Western Postwar Recovery Strategy

A great military officer and politician who was praised as the "Organizer of Victory" as Army Chief of Staff during World War II, and after the war determined the global strategy of the United States in the early Cold War as Secretary of State and Secretary of Defense. As the core of Soviet containment, he proposed the "Marshall Plan" to economically rescue a post-war Europe on the brink of ruin. This became the foundation for the unity and prosperity of Western nations during the Cold War era. Demonstrating outstanding leadership in both military and diplomatic spheres, he became the only military officer to receive the Nobel Peace Prize in 1953.
