D-Day Supreme Command, Presidency, and Interstate Highway Network

A hero who commanded operations such as the Normandy landings as Supreme Commander of the Allied Expeditionary Force in World War II, and became the 34th President after the war. As the Cold War intensified, he put forward the "New Look" policy based on a massive retaliation strategy to strengthen nuclear deterrence while achieving an armistice in the Korean War. In domestic policy, he promoted the development of the interstate highway network. Also known for sounding the alarm in his farewell address against the expansion of the "military-industrial complex," he was a great leader who brought stability and prosperity to the turbulent 1950s.
