'Abdu'l-Baha's Global Outreach and Humanitarian Service
'Abdu'l-Baha
Born in Tehran in 1844, 'Abdu'l-Baha was designated by his father, Baha'u'llah, as the authorized interpreter and leader of the Baha'i Faith. After enduring decades of exile and imprisonment, his release in 1908 allowed him to travel extensively across Europe and North America, promoting international peace, gender equality, and interfaith harmony. During World War I, his humanitarian efforts in relief work saved many from famine, earning him international acclaim before his death in Haifa in 1921.
