Nahum Sokolow and International Zionist Diplomacy

Nahum Sokolow

A accomplished polyglot journalist and diplomat, Nahum Sokolow served as Secretary-General and later President of the World Zionist Organization. During World War I, he worked closely with Chaim Weizmann to lobby British officials, playing a central role in diplomatic negotiations surrounding the 1917 Balfour Declaration. He also secured favorable commitments from European powers, including France and Italy, as well as the Vatican.
