Sultan al-Atrash

Born in Al-Qurayya in 1891, Sultan al-Atrash was a Druze leader and the commander-in-chief of the Great Syrian Revolt. He launched the 1925 uprising against French rule, waging fierce guerrilla warfare and becoming an icon of armed resistance.
